The British Council administers the IELTS.
What is the IELTS Exam Format?
The IELTS academic test consists of four tasks:
- reading
- writing
- listening
- speaking
These four parts are also on the IELTS general training exam.
The listening and speaking sections of the IELTS general and academic test are nearly identical.
Reading passages on the academic module will include academic texts.
However, reading passages on the IELTS general training exam will include non-academic texts such as letters or advertisements.
